A fine quality French gorge cased gilt brass carriage clock, the porcelain dial with Roman numerals and a painted cherub in the centre above a subsidiary alarm dial which is flanked by a courting couple.

In each porcelain panel there are two courting couples in a rural landscape.
The brass plated movement has an original platform lever escapement with jewelled end stop and helical spring. It runs for eight days and strikes/repeats the hours on a gong with passing strike at half past the hour. The backplate is stamped 252 at the bottom left.
