Elegant mid-19th Century mahogany Marine Stick Barometer; the slender case, square in cross-section, with ring suspension over engraved ivory register plates, signed by the makers and unusually trimmed with glazed brass-frame; the trunk inset with mercury Fahrenheit thermometer also protected by brass framed cover, and terminating in cylindrical brass cistern cover. Mounted on replaced brass gimbals.

On the death of Ebenezer Rust in 1840 the firm of Spencer, Browning & Rust continued, in the hands of his two former apprentices, William Spencer and Samuel Browning, trading from 111 Minories, London until 1873.
