This important nine-piece Georgian silver and cut-glass cruet set by Paul Storr is an excellent example of the silversmith's remarkable Georgian work. The set consists of eight cut-glass bottles: two carafes for oil and vinegar, two mustard pots mounted with sterling silver collars, and four sauce bottles are all held in place on a footed silver platter. The Rococo inspired design adorns the set with grace and restraint, incorporating an ornate acanthus motif with gadrooned accents, elements perfected by Storr. Cruet sets by this legendary craftsman are exceptionally rare, and to find one in such excellent condition is remarkable.

Hallmarked London, 1802.
