The Dish is circular in form with an everted rim decorated with an applied reeded band. The stepped, domed, cover terminates in a turned finial, with stylised silver urn moulding. The main body and cover are engraved with an unusual winged horse Crest. Most unusually, Paul Storr has made naturalistic reeded side handles which can be removed when travelling and packed away. Each handle is numbered, as is the side of the main body, so that the correct handle would be placed in the side slides. This is the first time we have seen this feature from any silversmith. The main body and cover are fully marked and the handles are marked with the maker's mark, sterling mark and duty mark. This is also the first time we have seen Storr making such an item and are sure that it must have been a special commission from a military officer to use on his campaigns.

Height: 4.6 inches, 11.5cm.
Diameter: 6.3 inches, 15.75cm.
Weight: 23oz.
