A fine mid 19th Century polished brass carriage clock. It has a shaped top handle and a thick oval bevel edge glass. The engine turned gilt dial mask has an enamel dial and a subsidiary alarm dial. It is signed by the original retailers, A Golay Leresche & fils, Geneva, who were renowned Swiss watchmakers. It has an 8 day movement with its original lever platform, that has an alarm mechanism and strikes the hours and halves on a gong. It is stamped with the trademark for Drocourt who are regarded as one of the best carriage clock makers of the period. It is numbered 17822 on the movement and case.
