Fine Example of a British Military Pocket Watch. Open Face. 50mm. Stem Wound / Stem Set. Circa 1939
Movement – this high quality and fine nickel movement has a lever escapement with a compensated balance and is signed “Swiss Made, 15 Jewels, K.F.260” – this is the mark for Certina Kurthe Freres makers. The movement is in 95% mint condition.
Case – the movement comes in a nickel open face case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The back cover is engraved “GS Mk II, A. 22869” – the serial number is repeated on the side of the watch also. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the black enamel dial has a full set of old luminous style hands and is signed “Carley & Clemence, 22869”. The dial is in 100% mint condition
