oil on canvas
(Cm.) 89 x 109

The painting is a work of Felice Fortunato Biggi, nicknamed 'de' Fiori 'for its elegant bouquet of flowers, characterized by a remarkable harmony of compositions.

Born in Parma around 1650, Biggi soon left their hometown to go to Verona, where he recorded his presence from 1680, after probable formation in Rome in the studio of Mario Nuzzi de 'Fiori, attested by a number of Which show the strong influence.

It is a composition that expresses all the finesse and quality typical of the painter's execution, which unites the Flemish calls, especially in the contrasts of chiaroscuro, and classical elements, drawn from the Roman dead nature, typical of Mario Nuzzi (Rome, 1603-1673).

From a stylistic point of view and composition, one can make comparison with other master: in particular, one should note a pair of paintings, preserved in the Civic Pinacoteca of Forlì, or another one of the Pinacoteca di Siena (see detail), in the second case signed.
