Sn4353 Magnificent George IV in rosewood, having marble top above a centre glazed door enclosing 2 height adjustable shelves, flanked by reeded pilaster with fine drop carvings and further glazed doors enclosing height adjustable shelves, all fitted with original working locks and 2 key, standing on bun feet. This antique low bookcase bears stamp, James Winter, 101 Wardour Str, Soho, London. James Winter was an important furniture dealer, broker and licensed appraiser based in Soho, London between 1823 and 1840. The business commenced at 101 Wardour Street in 1823, and, after 1840, moving to 151/153/155 Wardour Street. c1830
