Each of these fine, impressive sculptures depict a male lion in white marble. The lions exhibit impressive manes and bare their teeth as they stand on their clawed paws. Each lion stands on a rectangular marble plinth.
Sculptures of lions were often found in homes in the 18th and 19th Centuries, where they were thought fashionably imposing and could most often be found guarding doorways.
