A fine 8-day marine chronometer in its original brass bound three tier mahogany case. The five inch silvered brass dial is signed ‘Makers to the Admiralty, the Indian Govt. and Royal Navies of Italy, Spain and Portugal.’

The address of the maker: 149 Minories, London is also engraved in the dial centre and the serial number, Admiralty mark and 1897 date are inscribed within the seconds dial. It retains all its original finely tapered blued steel hands.

The top quality 8-day chain driven movement has ringed turned pillars, spotted plates, Harrison maintaining power and bimetallic spring balance with Earnshaw type detent escapement, It comes with its original brass tipsy winding key.
